Accreditation and the ANNUAL Statement of Compliance

Notices will be sent to ACA Liaisons for those camps seeking or renewing ACA accreditation reminding them to submit their 2008 Statement of Compliance. It is requested this statement be completed electronically and be submitted no later than May 1, 2008. Annual submission of the Statement of Compliance confirms a camp's compliance with applicable laws and codes and with ACA standards and ethics throughout the entire year and is a required part of the accreditation process. Accreditation applies to all camp programs and services offered under the same camp name throughout the year, except single-day events.

Have you recieved your Visit Assignment Information?

The assignments for camps due a visit have been made and sent to all visitors and camps. Information was emailed this week.

CAMPS & VISITORS MUST attend the update training for the new standards that are now in effect. If you have not attended this training, please call 888-559-2267 or email pam@mecgs.org immediately.

CAMPS should ensure that the visit and/or pre-visit is scheduled by May 16, 2008. Your lead visitor should contact you but you are free to contact the lead visitor to schedule pre-visit/visit. If your visit is not scheduled in a timely manner, please call 888-559-2267 or email pam@mecgs.org

LEAD VISITORS should ensure that the visit and/or pre-visit is scheduled by May 16, 2008. Once the visit is scheduled, report the visit date by email to: pam@mecgs.org

ADDITIONAL VISITORS should contact the lead visitor with available dates and other contact information if applicable.

ALL VISITORS should remember to request a copy of the camp brochure and/or website address along with a map (directions). Brochures, websites and other camp information assist the visitor(s) in identifying areas that should be viewed during the visit. Maps and/or directions should include locations to meet on the day of the visit.

If ANY VISITOR is unable to complete a visit, he or she should inform the section office immediately at 888-559-2267 or by email to: pam@mecgs.org so that another visitor may be assigned. Visits should not occur with less than two visitors.
