Comment Policy
Welcome to the Buffalo Bur Blog. We are glad you are here but we also have a few guidelines to help us foster a safe, healthy community.
First of all, we love having a format were you have a way to interact with us. Comments, your comments, give you the chance to share information, to be outspoken when you feel it is needed and to contribute to this community. When you see that comment field on the blog? Use it. Love it. Claim it. It’s yours.
There is just one rule.
Don’t be a jerk.
What does that mean?
- Stay on topic.
- Don’t post potentially libelous comments. We are not getting sued because you’re mouthy or are having a bad day.
- Don’t post racist or obscene comments.
- Don’t post threatening comments unless they’re directed solely at the board. Just kidding, please don’t do that at all.
- Do not steal someone else’s work and then drop it as a comment. You don’t have to try that hard to impress us.
- Do not post private or personal information/emails of another person without their consent.
- Handles are okay, but your name is not “Free Socks” so don’t make believe it is. Otherwise, we’ll “make believe” we never got your comment.
- Do not violate trademarks, copyrights or intellectual property rights in your comment.
- If you leave a comment that says nothing more than “I agree” or “great post”, you give us express permission to use the Internet to track down your exact address and flick you in the ear.
And that’s it! Abide by those simple rules and we’re all going to get along fine. Break one and we reserve the right to hand feed your blog comment to Akismet or edit it in any other way that makes us feel better about posting it (or not posting it).
Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
